Edmonton Oilers forward Jordan Eberle has been the subject of trade rumors in The City of Champions since the Oilers bowed out to the Anaheim Ducks in 7 games in the second round of the NHL’s Stanley Cup playoffs. His lack of production, combined with his annual $6 million cap hit makes him an expendable, or worse, an anchor, on the team’s roster.

TSN reporter and NHL insider Bob McKenzie believes that Eberle will be traded by Oilers general manager Pete Chiarelli this offseason and that a deal could happen as soon as today or tomorrow. But who’s interested and where will he end up?

It’s not surprising that there’s interest in Eberle. While the 27 year-old does carry a hefty price tag, he did manage 20 goals and 51 points in what was considered to be an “off year” in 2016-17. There are questions surrounding his commitment to the game and his level of fitness, but a fresh start with a new team has a way of changing perspective on these things. Whomever acquires Eberle from the Oilers will automatically improve their offense for 2017-18.
