Worth getting the old band back together?

Two former Boston Bruins hit the waiver wire in the NHL yesterday with Niklas Svedberg and Landon Ferraro of the Minnesota Wild both receiving a demotion to the team’s AHL affiliate in Iowa. With both players now available to the Bruins for essentially nothing, are either one worth taking a chance on?

Svedberg, a 28-year-old goaltender who has played the last two seasons in the KHL put up pretty stellar numbers in two season with the Providence Bruins, but was never able to nail down the backup position in Boston. Might a couple years of experience in Russia have changed that?

Ferraro played 58 games for the Bruins in 2015-16, scoring five goals and 10 points. Last season he managed only 22 games in the AHL for the Chicago Wolves, so he’ll no doubt be chomping at the bit to get back to the NHL. Do the B’s have a spot for the gritty 26-year-old?

What’s your call? Are Svedberg or Ferraro worth another spin around the sun?
