With the Penguins roster decimated by injury, it appears as though they will have to remain patient with a couple of injured players.
Defensemen Christian Ehrhoff and Derrick Pouliot will miss Game 2 tonight and remain day-to-day according to head coach Mike Johnston. Ehrhoff has been out of the Penguins’ lineup since March 24 due to a concussion, was cleared for contact on Tuesday. The 32-year-old was limited to only 49 games this season. Ehrhoff had three goals and 14 points to go along with a plus-8 rating while averaging 21:46 in ice time. Pouliot (upper body) missed Game 1 and has not played since suffering the injury on April 7 against Ottawa. The 21-year-old had two goals and five assists in 34 regular season games while averaging 17:33 in time on ice.
The Penguins face off against the Rangers tonight in Game 2 action.
