Report: Two names rumored to be the favorites for the Avalanche head coaching job.
Keystone Press.

Who will be the next coach of the Colorado Avalanche?

Whoever it is they will have some huge shoes to fill, following in the footsteps of a National Hockey League legend like Patrick Roy, but it sounds like general manager Joe Sakic may have found the men he feels can do just that.

According to a report from Terry Frei and Mike Chambers of the Denver Post two NHL assistant coaches, Bob Boughner of the San Jose Sharks and Kevin Dineen of the Chicago Blackhawks , have now emerged as the two favorites for the job, with the Avalanche having extended and reportedly productive meetings with both men.

It's unclear at this time if one man has an advantage over the other, and while this is merely speculative, we have heard Bougher's name come up more frequently that Dineen's.
