Report: Update on injured forward David Backes after surgery.

The Boston Bruins have been without the services of Daivd Backes as a result of an elbow issue, but on Monday Backes had surgery to correct the problem and as a result we now have more information regarding his health.

According to a report from head coach Claude Juline, Backes' current status is doubtful, and he expects that it will remain as such for the next two games. However he did also add that there is no longer risk of infection, and as a result he expects Backes to resume skating with a day or two, a promising sign for the Bruins and their big offseason acquisition.

Backes has played well for Boston in his 5 games, recording two goals and two assists over that stretch, and Julien expects the earliest he will be back is for the Bruins next home game on Saturday.
