Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews is one of the brightest young stars in the NHL, so it’s no surprise that he was recently invited by the NHLPA to represent the players at the NHLPA Player Tour media event in New York City.
However, news broke Wednesday morning that Matthews would be unable to attend, due to illness.
But good news for all the Leafs fans out there: Matthews has reportedly rid himself of the flu and he is finally back on the ice with his teammates.
Timing is everything and the short absence has not prevented Matthews from getting ready for the upcoming season.
