Report: Why The Red Wings Will Miss The Playoffs

The Detroit Red Wings are believed to be going through a transitional period as they try to become competitive once again.

 

The loss of Pavel Datsyuk to the KHL was a hard blow to digest, as captain Henrik Zetterberg and veteran defenseman Niklas Kronwall’s statuses remain uncertain ahead of the upcoming regular season schedule.

 

Kevin Allen of USA Today believes that the team will miss the playoffs for the first time in 26 years, citing many uncertainties such as goaltending and forwards Tomas Tatar and Gustav Nyquist’s performances.

 

He also makes mention of Dylan Larkin and how he will need to step up big time in order to prove him wrong.
