The Minnesota Wild have executed a pair of relatively minor signings on Tuesday.

First the organization release the following official statement, announcing that they were bringing back goaltender Darcy Kuemper for the short term:

The Minnesota Wild has agreed to terms with restricted free-agent goaltender Darcy Kuemper (pronounced KEHM-puhr) on a one-year, $1.55 million contract.

At the price is perfectly reasonable, and if Kuemper can regain some of his lost form and push starter Devan Dubnyk it will be well worth the investment from Minnesota. If not he's at worse a serviceable back up option.

Wild insider Mike Russo also revealed that the team will be bringing back 25 year old defenseman Zach Palmquist, although whether or not he is expected to crack the NHL roster this season is unclear.
