The Boston Bruins have demoted one of their promising young forwards to the American Hockey League.

According to a report from the Bruins official website, 21-year-old forward Anders Bjork has been sent down to the Providence Bruins after playing 28 regular season games in the National Hockey League this season.

The move appears to be motivated by the fact that the Bruins want to be able to get Bjork as much playing time as possible so he continues to develop, and with him being a healthy scratch over the past several games that wasn't happening at the NHL level.

The Bruins are on an incredible run of form as well so making room for Bjork in the line up would risk breaking up the chemistry that is currently helping them find a high level of success on the ice.

In his 28 games this season Bjork had 4 goals and 8 assists for a total of 12 points.
