A member of the Edmonton Oilers has suffered an injury during training, however now that we have more details the good news is that the worst appears to have been averted.

23-year-old forward Anton Slepyshev suffered a lower-body injury in training, however the severity and specific nature of that injury was unknown until Oilers insider Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal provided a more detailed update.

According to Matheson, the injury to Slepyshev is an ankle injury, although the good news is that according to Matheson the injury is not believed to be a serious one, presumably indicating that he should be ready to go at least by the start of the regular season.

Slepyshev had the biggest season of his National Hockey League career in 2016-2017, appearing in 41 of his 52 career games thus far and recording 4 goals and 6 assists for a total of 10 points, all career highs.
