Respected insider shares controversial opinion on disallowed goal in Game 1.

It's one thing when fans object to a call on the ice, it fact it probably happens every single game in the National Hockey League, but one of the most well-respected insiders in the business does it, ears perk up.

On Tuesday Sportsnet insider and Hockey Night In Canada panelist Elliotte Friedman spoke about the disallowed goal in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final and it's rather clear from his comments that he disagreed with the call.

While he stopped short of calling it a "travesty," something that colleague Damien Cox did in fact do, Friedman felt that due to the original call on the ice being a goal, there was not enough evidence to irrefutably overturn the call.

You can listen to the full segment in the video below, and let us know if you agree or disagree in the comments.
