The Winnipeg Jets are still hung over from the tough summer they endured, having lost defensemen Tyler Myers, Ben Chariot and Jacob Trouba to free agency and dealign with the uncertainty of getting Dustin Byfuglien back in the lineup this season, he who has been considering retirement on a leave of absence.

To make things worse, Jets head coach Paul Maurice said Tuesday defenseman Josh Morrissey will be held out of the team's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins once again tonight for precautionary reasons...

The Jets have now lost two of their three first games of the 2019-20 season and it feels like a boost on the blue line is deeply needed to get them back on track before it’s too late.

That must be why former NHLer John Scott, who retired back in 2016, offered his services to the Jets to help them on the back end. That’s right, on Tuesday, Scott went on Twitter to inform the Jets he was available to play defense for Winnipeg.

The 6 foot, 8 inch, 260 pound giant was an enforcer on the ice in the NHL for the Minnesota Wild, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, Buffalo Sabres, Arizona Coyotes and Montreal Canadiens.

He was eventually voted to the NHL All-Star team in 2016 and won the game’s MVP in one of the greatest moment in history.

It would be hard for the Jets to say no - after all, the guy can play forward and defense and is more than willing to fight to get his point across.

Let’s see if the Jets will give him a call!
