The National Hockey League is focused on playing the remained of the 2019-20 season in order to crown a Stanley Cup champion this summer, but this demands a lot of organization and compromises to do so.

On Tuesday night, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman explained on the air of the NHL Network that players will have to make some compromises as they get ready to return to action. The insider strongly believes that rival players will have to practice together before returning to their respective clubs. Depending on where the player resides during the quarantine, it will affect with who he will practice and skate with in the next weeks.

“For example, if you live in the Southern California area, and the Kings and the Ducks are allowed to open up their facilities and you can skate, it does not matter if you play for the Kings and the Ducks. If you’re on another team but live in that area and you want to go in and take a small skate or do a small workout, I think there is a hope that that could be done.”

This will be a first for many NHL players, however, some are already used to getting in shape with rival players during the offseason. These are unprecedented times, and it applies to practice and what needs to be done for action to resume.
