This just in, free agent goaltender Robin Lehner has reportedly signed a deal with the Chicago Blackhawks. This according to NHL insider Bob McKenzie.

Check it out:

Woooow, that’s a crazy deal! Especially after reports that Lehner turned down a two year, $10 million deal from the New York Islanders. Stay tuned for more info.

UPDATE:

Arthur Staple of The Athletic is reporting that the Islanders have countered by signing former Colorado Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov to a four year contract.

So, what does this mean for the future of Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford? Sure, Lehner can step into the starter's role, but with just one year on Lehner's contract, does this mean that Crawford is still in the Blackhawks' long-term plans?
