In case you missed it earlier this week, former NBC analyst and NHL star Jeremy Roenick was on Fox News’ “Watters’ World” with guest host Brian Kilmeade and just as you’d suspect JR didn’t hold back much.

Roenick ripped NHL players who kneel for the national anthem, he criticized the Black Lives Matter movement and even went so far as to allude that he was dismissed from his job from NBC over his support for U.S. President Donald Trump.

“I wasn’t for it when Kaepernick did it and I’m not for it now,” Roenick said about national anthem protests. “I’m a huge lover of our country. I’m a huge lover of our flag, our national anthem.”

“We all have to work to make this world a better place for everyone but not when it comes to our flag,” he said. “Not when it comes to being our country where millions of people – men and women – have sacrificed their lives. They’ve given the ultimate sacrifice to make sure that we have the freedoms to do the things that we do. And yes, it is kneeling, but I just don’t like the venue. That flag means more to me.”

As for the Black Lives Matter movement, evidently JR sees it as some sort of threat to patriotism? Try to make sense of this rambling statement:

“I think the Black Lives Matter has a great message and I think the racial inequality is something that we all have to think about. We all have to work to make this world a better place for everyone but not when it comes to our flag. Not when it comes to being our country where millions of people – men and women – have sacrificed their lives. They’ve given the ultimate sacrifice to make sure that we have the freedoms to do the things that we do. And yes, it is kneeling but I just don’t like the venue. That flag means more to me.”

Roenick went on to say that he was ridiculed at NBC for his support of Trump and that his superiors “hated it”.

“I heard about it pretty much every day,” says Roenick who maintains he was unfairly dismissed after making inappropriate comments about NBC colleague Kathryn Tappen.
