Rookie Makar cashes in BIG going into Game 7 tonight!

The Colorado Avalanche wanted to stay alive on Monday when it faced the San Jose Sharks in Game 6 of the second round series, which headed into overtime.

Rookie Cale Makar had an additional motivation that pushed him to help his team to force a do or die Game 7 tonight.

The young rookie defenseman will cash in a bonus of $107,500 since he will take part in his 10th playoff game on Wednesday, a clause that was written up in his contract with the Avs.

Makar started his NHL career in the third game of the first round series against the Calgary Flames this spring. He therefore did not get a regular-season salary. He did receive a bonus when he signed the deal, which was worth $92,500 and an additional cheque of $25,000 after he took part in five playoffs contests.

He now gets quite the promotion as he will play this life-changing Game 7 later tonight in San Jose, cashing in his biggest paycheque as of yet.

Makar has become a key player in the Avalanche’s postseason; he has recorded six points in nine games and is looking for more tonight along with the additional cash he will get.
