National Hockey League players find all kinds of creative outlets for their energies during the offseason, and often that results in them training in new physical disciplines to help stay in shape for the next season. One rookie sensation has taken that habit to the extreme and has started to train in an extremely demanding discipline over the summer, Thai Boxing or Muay Thai.

Chicago Blackhawks forward Artemi Panarin, the Calder Trophy winner, recently put up a video and some images on his Instagram of him training at a Thai boxing gym in St. Petersburg training with someone he called "champion" linking to an Instagram account named "Hidchenko."

While it's unclear who this account belongs to as the account is entirely in Russian, it may be Russian Thai Boxer Sergei Hidchenko who has had some big international fights in his career.

Panarin who already wasn't one to back down from a fight, will likely be feeling very confident on the ice next season.
