He has 697 points (333 goals, 364 assists) in 885 NHL games since he’s in the NHL. He has played for the Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens, Minnesota Wild, Detroit Red Wings and the Florida Panthers. Vanek was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres fifth overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, making him the highest drafted Austrian in NHL history.
