Rumor: Another goalie trade in the works?

Despite earning a victory last night over the rival Calgary Flames, the Edmonton Oilers must be concerned with the play of back up goaltender Laurent Brossoit. The youngster allowed four goals in the third period last night and almost ended up losing a game that was 6-1 for the Oilers at one point. In the end, Brossoit and the Oilers hung on for a 7-5 victory.

According to Sportsnet’s John Shannon though, Broissoit’s performance could force the Oilers to make a move to shore things up between the pipes.

The 24-year-old native of Cloverdale, BC has appeared in just eight games this season for the Oilers, posting a horrendous 3.81 GAA and .872 save percentage. With Cam Talbot on the IR for at least the next week, might Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli dip into the goalie market?

The Toronto Maple Leafs have both Calvin Pickard and Garret Sparks tearing up the AHL with the Toronto Marlies. The Detroit Red Wings have Petr Mrazek available. Or how about Robin Lehner from the Buffalo Sabres? There are options out there, it's just a matter of how desperate the Oilers get between now and Talbot's return.
