Rumor: Blackhawks trying to make very controversial trade.

Trade likely to make the head coach unhappy.

The Chicago Blackhawks are looking to make a trade but it's not likely to be a trade that sits well with head coach Joel QuenneVille or some members of the Blackhawks fan base for that matter.

Quenneville was reportedly furious when general manager Stan Bowman traded Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson to the Arizona Coyotes for defenseman Connor Murphy and Laurent Dauphin, and now one of the pieces the Blackhawks got back in the trade is rumored to be on the trading block.

It's quite clear that Murphy has not been a favorite of Quenneville's and now the 24-year-old defenseman is currently being shopped according to a report from The Fourth Period. This would seemingly be an admission by Bowman that he may have made an error on this trade deal.

Unfortunately for the Blackhawks there has not been a ton of interest from rival teams in Murphy, this despite the fact that he would be under contract for 4 more seasons after this one, and at the reasonable price of $3,850,000 per season.

Murphy has appeared in 16 games for Chicago this season and has recorded no goals and 1 assist for a total of 1 point over that stretch. The young blue liner has a plus minus rating of -2 on the season.
