Rumor: Blockbuster trade brewing to swap first rounders

The Montreal Canadiens finally got their first regulation win last night, but it is not enough yet to put a hold on several trade specualtions.

Forward Alex Galchenyuk remains on the trading block while chatter has sent him to the New York Rangers, the Colorado Avalanche and now the Calgary Flames

In his latest Flames mailbag segment, Kent Wilson addressed a reader’s question about pursuing Galchenyuk in Calgary.

According to many, a swap of Galchenyuk for Sam Bennett makes sense for both teams on paper.

Though Galchenyuk is slightly older, he is offensively capable and a change of scenery might do him good. Bennett could also become a difference maker and a young fresh attitude the Habs are looking for.

In nine games this season with the Canadiens, the former first rounder has recorded two goals, while Bennett has yet to find the scoresheet in nine contests.

What do you think of the swap here?
