Rumor: Bruins to trade Torey Krug tomorrow, 4 teams reportedly in the mix.

There have been trade rumors surrounding talented Boston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug for what feels like the better part of the last 3 seasons now, but we may have finally reached the end.

According to a report from Barstool's Rear Admiral, there is an expectation that the Boston Bruins will finally pull the trigger on a trade for Torey Kurg tomorrow. The report suggests that the Bruins will trade the rights to the pending unrestricted free agent to a team that presumably is prepared to make an offer to Krug prior to him hitting the open market on October 9th. This would appear to be an indication that the Bruins have given up on the possibility of bringing Krug back into their lineup beyond this current season, a move that will no doubt come as a big disappointment for many long time fans of the Bruins organization.

It now appears as though there are at least four teams in the running, with RA reporting that the Detroit Red Wings, Las Vegas Golden Knights, Colorado Avalanche and the Florida Panthers are all among the suitors for Krug's services. I suspect that with the news breaking and going public that the list of teams will continue to grow, but the ones we have here already indicate that there will be plenty of demand for Krug's services.

Krug, who turned 29 this past April, is an offensively gifted blue liner that many view as a potential quarterback for just about any power play unit in the league. His ability to generate offense from the blue line is matched by very few players in the league and the Bruins will no doubt be hard pressed to replace him.

Keep in mind here that even if a team does acquire the rights to Krug prior to the market opening up on October 9th, it does not mean that Krug himself will choose to sign with that team. I suspect that it will depend on what Krug is looking for in terms of money, what kind of contender he wants to play for, and of course his prefered choice of location in North America. Among the teams already mentioned we have the Golden Knights and Avalanche that would no doubt provide him a chance to play for a perennial contender, and although the Red Wings may appear to be a long shot they no doubt have a special appeal of their own to Krug who is a native of Livonia, Michigan.

Where do you think Krug will end up?
