According to a report from News 1130’s Rick Dhaliwal, Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning has reached out to the Columbus Blue Jackets to enquire about unsigned RFA Josh Anderson.

Earlier this morning Sportsnet analyst and NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported that Anderson had requested a trade out of Columbus after failing to come to terms with the team on a new contract. Now… he wants out.

In 78 games with the Blue Jackets last season, the 23-year-old Anderson scored 17 goals and 29 points. Interestingly enough Anderson played his junior hockey on a line with Canucks centerman Bo Horvat with the OHL’s London Knights. Could a reunion be in the works?

So, what’s a fair asking price for Anderson via trade? Draft picks? A prospect? Both?
