Several teams around the National Hockey League are looking for a quality defenseman to add to their lineup in hopes to secure victories and a playoff spot down the road. Many of them were stuck looking only at the Vegas Golden Knights or Los Angeles Kings, but a new name has landed on the trading block and is sure to get some attention.

Look to the desert!

According to Hockey Buzz, Arizona Coyotes defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson could be available, as the team is struggling out of the gate and the 30-year-old has a year left on his current contract. The blueliner was traded this past summer from the Chicago Blackhawks to Arizona in return for Laurent Dauphin and Connor Murphy.

Many sources have revealed that the GM John Chayka could be willing to listen to teams needing a boost of the back end. The New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Washington Capitals, Montreal Canadiens and Buffalo Sabres could all look to ask the asking price to acquire Hjalmarsson.

In 10 games so far, Hjalmarsson has just an assist. Last season with the Hawks, he recorded five goals and 18 points in 73 games.
