RUMOR : Cup winning veteran centerman to be traded to Vegas?
In house

The inclusion of the Golden Knight in the NHL has shaken a lot of things. For starter, the expansion draft forces every team to reassess their assets and decide who will be protected or not. In some cases, it could be a good way to get rid of bad contracts and less-than-stellar performer.

However, the Vegas franchise can still trade assets before and after the expansion draft. According to Barry Rozner, journalist at the Daily Herald, the Hawks could try to move Marcus Kruger before long. The centerman is at the first year of a three year, 9,25M$ deal. The Hawks are always looking to liberate more cap space to sign all their star players and his salary could be replaced by upcoming rookies in the Hawks system.

Of course, this rumor would only make sense in the context of a salary dump. The Vegas organization has the liberty to manage their cap space how they need it and Kruger relative contract could very well fit in the plan. A 3M$/year 17 points producer is a tad costly, but the veteran 26 years old won Cups in Chicago and knows how to win.

We will follow this one very closely!
