Rumor: Ducks on to next move after two major trade failed attempts!

Bad luck has taken a hold of the Anaheim Ducks, not only affecting their current roster, but also having a say on the players they looked to land on the trade market. Despite two major failed trade attempts, the  injury-plagued team isn't ruling out pulling another move on the market. 

According to Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register, the Ducks are seeking help up front after both of their preferred targets turned out to move elsewhere. Center Matt Duchene was a target before he was moved in a blockbuster deal to the Ottawa Senators. The Ducks also made a failed attempt to acquire center Vadim Shipachyov from the Vegas Golden Knights, but the 30-year-old Russian retired and moved back home. 

With such notables as Ryan Getzlaf, Cam Fowler, Ryan Kesler and Patrick Eaves sidelined with injuries, the Ducks need to bolster their depth, especially at forward. Rival clubs are much aware that Anaheim has an interesting depth on the back end, and could demand Hampus Lindholm, Brandon Montour or Josh Manson in a return. Sami Vatanen was also mentioned several times in last season’s trade chatter.

At any time, and this is a broken record, if there’s a chance to improve the organization and hockey team, you definitely go ahead and do it. It’s early yet," noted Ducks general manager Bob Murray.

Who will the Ducks target next? They are not the only team look for a boost up front. The New York Rangers and Columbus Blue Jackets are also seeking a top forward on the market. 

Calgary Flames' Sam Bennett, Toronto Maple Leafs' Mitch Marner and even Edmonton Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins have been talked about on the market. The Ducks are surely looking to make a move first and not fail, again, at making a trade...
