Edmonton Oilers Reportedly Trying to Ink Forward for the Playoffs

A report from hockey insider Darren Dreger suggests Union College forward Spencer Foo attended Oilers game last night. Edmonton is hoping to sign the local lad, but other teams in mix as well.

In an NHL.com article on this year’s top college free agents, Dave Starman, a college hockey analyst for CBS Sports Network and ESPN, gives the following scouting report on Foo:

He’s greasy. He just does a lot of little things that are fun to watch. He’s got electric speed, hands, guts. He’s not afraid to try something difficult. He’s been good. He’s just fun to watch and he plays with an edge.

Foo played 38 games this season with Union College. He scored 26 goals and registered 36 assists for a total of 62 points.
