Rumor: Fan favorite Forward has not been offered a deal, likely to be traded.

Fans in Montreal have not had a good time as of late, and now it sounds like the fans may be losing one of their favorite players, playoff hero Dale Weise.

According to a report in French Montreal newspaper La Presse, there have been absolutely no talks of any kind between the soon to be unrestricted free agent and the club, leaving his future in limbo. By all accounts, Weise himself has made evident he wishes to remain with the Habs, but the team's lack of any kind of offer may point to his time with the club coming to an end.

During a recent radio interview with Montreal's 690 Radio TSN insider Darren Dreger stated he believes there will be a good deal of interest in Weise, who has repeatedly demonstrated he can take his game to the next level in the post season.

"His ability to score a big goal is surprising to most, and his track record in the playoffs speaks for itself and that will be of interest to a contending team" said Dreger.

Weise always comes with an extremely manageable cap hit of just over $1 million dollars, this fact, almost more so than any other factor ,could make him an extremely valuable rental player.
