The trade market is buzzing more and more, with many NHL clubs looking for help on both ends of the ice. The Boston Bruins and Anaheim Ducks have been plagued by injuries and are said to be looking for help up front, while the New York Rangers and Montreal Canadiens are keeping an eye out for an offensive boost as the start of the season was quite rough.

Several trade baits have been named and talked about on the market, but a new piece could bring forth lots of interest. The San Jose Sharks might be looking to part ways with former first rounder Mikkel Boedker before the Trade Deadline, according to Kevin Kurz of the Athletic.

Fans might be delighted to hear of this potential move, seeing that the 27-year-old has been struggling in California. He only has six points in 14 games, but an important detail in his contract might rebuff some buyers. Though he lacks no-trade protection, Boedker carries a $4 million annual cap hit through 2019-20. If the Sharks are willing to absorb a big chunk of his cap hit, a move could be done.

One thing is almost certain: the Sharks do not want to move centre Chris Tierney. A Boedker transaction appears more plausible.

Boedker was selected eighth overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Arizona Coyotes
