RUMOR : Former contending team now in seller mode, goalie to leave soon?
In house

The Ben Bishop trade wasn't enough yesterday. Apparently, GMs are still crazy about puck stoppers this year.

According to this credible source, either Steve Mason or Michal Neuvirth is about to move away from Philly.

Both goalies are doing okay this year, but with Philly doing badly overall and going nowhere, one of the tenders might have to pay the price. What's their value in today's market is a good guess, but we can expect a decent return considering the Bishop's precedent.

Neuvirth will be UFA at the end of the season. He was paid 1.625M$ this year. He played 24 games so far this year, showing a 10-9-1 result.

Mason will also become UFA at the end of the year, but his 4,1M$ salary cap hit is less appealing to contending team seeking an improvement in front of the cage. With 16-17-6 in 42 starts, he wasn't stellar either.

We will stay on top of it for sure!
