Former first round pick to be waived?

We have a very interesting development going on in Boston.

Initially reports were that the Boston Bruins were playing former first round draft pick Malcolm Subban in the hopes of finding a trade partner for him, now however it sounds like the Bruins may lose him for nothing.

Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe has just highlighted the fact that if the Bruins now wish to send Subban back down to the American Hockey League he would have to clear the waiver process, and he seems to believe that there may now be interested parties.

According to Dupont Subban's strong performance with the Bruins on Monday night, one that saw him play the entire game against the Chicago Blackhawks while posting a .923 save percentage may have been enough to interest rival teams.

The Bruins obviously would prefer a trade, but it will be very interesting to see if Subban does get picked up should he hit the waiver wire.
