Rumor: Habs currently trying to sign former Sens forward.

The Montreal Canadiens are reportedly attempting to sign a former Ottawa Senators forward.

28-year-old forward Stephane Da Costa has been out of the National Hockey League for several years now, however he has continued to show off his skills in the Kontinental Hockey League, and after 20 points in just 24 games last season, he has caught the attention of some NHL team.

According to a report from French websiteL'Equipe, the Canadiens are one of several teams who are currently in negotiations with Da Costa in the hopes of bringing him to North America for the 2017-2018 NHL season.

Da Costa is a native of Paris,France so one has to imagine that a French-speaking city like Montreal may be appealing to him.
