Chicago Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman is wasting no time on following through with his promise of making changes to the Blackhawks following their upset defeat to the Nashville Predators in the first round of the NHL’s Stanley Cup playoffs.

Respected TSN analyst and NHL insider Darren Dreger reported this morning that Bowman and the Blackhawks are on the verge of signing 22 year-old Czech forward David Kampf to a two year entry-level contract.

In 52 games this season for Chomutov Pirati in the top division of the Czech Extraliga, Kampf produced 15 goals and 31 points. The Hawks have reportedly been interested in Kampf’s services for quite some time and it appears that their bid to land the promising young player has bested other offers from the Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights.

It remains to be seen how Kampf will factor into the team’s lineup for next season, but with change on the horizon in Chicago, he’ll be afforded every opportunity to earn a roster spot in 2017-18
