Rumor : High value KHLer on his way to Buffalo?

He would be a big help for the struggling Sabres.

After a very disappointing season, the Buffalo Sabres need to shake things up thoroughly to find the victory path again. With both the head coach and the GM gone, the Sabres are in full reconstruction mode. Roster management is a big part of it and you can't expect Jack Eichel to do it all by himself.

One important leak present in the Sabres lineup is the defensive squad. Although all the guys are huge, the offensive upside of the guys in the back is not that great and a little help may be needed. Rumors are, a quality offensive defenseman might be on the way.

Antipin had 24 points in 59 games this year with the Magnitogorsk Metallurg in Russia. His production was not that great and the team was solid, but Antipin had the chance to develop his skills and grow in a tough environment. He has huge expectations for next season though.

Basically, he either starts in the full lineup or goes back to Russia. This kind of ultimatum is not popular among NHL GMs, but the Sabres might be desperate enough to accept these conditions.

Interestingly enough, Antipin was approached by the Penguins and refused to go there.

Considering his conditions to play in the top 6 wouldn't be possible in Pittsburgh, he accepted to move to a smaller market team to get the chance to prove himself.

This story will be fun to watch!
