Rumor: Huge proposed player for player trade involving David Pastrnak.

A major proposed trade.

One of the more surprising stories this offseason has been the inability for the Boston Bruins organization to reach a deal with restricted free agent David Pastrnak, and that has spawned all kinds of rumors.

On Thursday Bruins insider Joe Haggerty was asked about whether or not general manager Don Sweeney was seriously considering Pastrnak, and unsurprisingly he stated that he does not believe Sweeney is currently listening to offers.

That being said however, Haggerty does believe that there is an offer that would force the Bruins general manager to seriously consider the possibility, and it would be nothing short of a monster player for player deal.

From CSNNE:

I don’t think Don Sweeney is listening to offers at all right now. As I wrote, if the Bruins could get a player like Zach Werenski in exchange for Pastrnak then I would certainly think about it.

I'm not so certain the Columbus Blue Jackets would be so willing to give up on a 20-year-old defenseman who appears to have incredible upside, but that being said if they feel Pastrnak can consistently produce the way he did last season, they would have to seriously consider such an offer.

As a general rule defensemen carry a higher value than forwards in the NHL, and that could mean the Bruins would have to sweeten the deal somewhat to make it a reality.

What do you think of this proposed trade? Would you make it if you were the Columbus GM? Would you make it if you were the Boston GM? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
