Entering the second half of the 2017-18 season, NHL teams are seriously looking at imminent solutions en route for the playoffs. And it seems like the St. Louis Blues are in the middle of every big trade chatter happening recently.

Not only are the Blues interesting in landing top scorer Mike Hoffman from the Ottawa Senators, they are now reportedly scouring the market for help in between the pipes.

While backup Aaron Dell's name, of the San Jose Sharks, has enough come up in trade rumors, veteran Jimmy Howard of the Detroit Red Wings could be the better solution for the Blues.

Adam Herman believes the Blues could be the perfect fit for the veteran, and then St. Louis could improve a struggling aspect of their game in goaltending.

The Red Wings are not going to make the postseason this year, and are looking to build a stronger future in Hockey Town. The Blues could send picks or a prospect in a deal for Howard and make a great business move.

Backup Carter Hutton, who will be facing the New Jersey Devils tonight, might still have time to prove he can help Jake Allen in net, but he may get some action to see what the Blues' next move is...
