Rumor: Insider believes Habs will make big push for top free agent forward this summer.

One insider believes the Montreal Canadiens will be looking to secure the services one of this summer's top free agent forwards.

When asked where he believes Islanders winger, and soon to be free agent, Kyle Okposo would end up Newsday's Arthur Staple stated that his instincts have been telling him that Montreal will make a "big push for him."

According to generalfanager.com the Habs are only projected to have $5.2 million in cap space, so how they could attract Okposo who is reportedly looking for $6 million per season, some say $7m per, under their current circumstances is unclear. 

Montreal general manager Marc Bergevin will need to be creative if he wants to nab Okposo and with many believing that defenseman Alexei Emelin could be the one to go, the contract of Mark Barberio making Emelin somewhat expendable. Emelin carries a $4.1 million cap hit and his departure would give Montreal the flexibility it needs to be a player for Okposo.
