The most recent trade rumors pointed mostly to Colorado Avalanche Matt Duchene and New York Islanders captain John Tavares, but several other players in the NHL appear to be starting the new season, already on the trade block.

Sportsnet dressed a list of nine potential trade candidates for the upcoming season, and Winnipeg Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba could be in the middle of it once again.

Last season, Trouba found him with no contract or arbitration rights, and asked the Jets for a trade. Although he signed a deal to remain with the team until 2018 in November, the next contract talks might be another battle. And what a mess it was!

Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff may have to explore the possibility of trading him, since he would interested rival clubs on the market. He recorded a carder-high 33 points last season, and he is known to log big minutes on the ice.

The Jets will have to make sure they don't become to scarce on the blue line if Trouba is shipped off. The Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, New Jersey Devils, Dallas Stars and Vancouver Canucks would be interested to land him.
