The Toronto Maple Leafs are quite obviously looking to improve their blue line this summer, specifically the right side of their blue line, and they have made no secret of that fact.

However while a trade has often been suggested as the most obvious solution, Tyler Dellow of The Athletic believes that the Maple Leafs are in position to make a "huge offer sheet" for soon-to-be free agent defenseman Colton Parayko.

While Parayko may not be a household name to most around the league, in his first two seasons in the National Hockey League he has far surpassed the expectations that were set for him as a 2nd round draft choice.

Not only has Parayko demonstrated himself to be a solid defensive defenseman, but he has also produced at least 30 points in each of his two seasons, plays on the right side of the ice, has big time physical gifts, and on top of all of that is only 24-years-old.

The Blues have to address Parayko's contract situation this summer as he has now played out the final dear of his contract and is set to earn a hefty raise from the $925,000 average annual value he carried on his last deal. That leaves the door open for the Toronto Maple Leafs to present an offer sheet that could secure them a top-4 quality defensemen who could be a staple of their organization's blue line for years to come barring any catastrophes.
