Another trade seems highly likely.

It seems likely that the Toronto Maple Leafs are hard at work in the hopes of pulling off another move this offseason.

In a recent report for the Toronto Star Kevin McGran revealed that there is a strong sense that the Maple Leafs are in fact looking at trade opportunities around the league. From McGran:

Most in hockey believe the Leafs will start peddling excess forwards for help on the blue line.

Luke Fox of Sportsnet has reported something rather similar which would appear to corroborate McGran's statement. From Fox:

General manager Lou Lamoriello is on record saying he’s happy to go into camp with the roster as is. We’re certain he’d be happier if a forward or two could be packaged with a draft pick to bolster a blue line...

In fact according to Fox it sounds like the Leafs tried to move James van Riemsdyk to the Islanders in exchange for defenseman Travis Hamonic, but that deal feel apart. Fox believes that Anaheim Ducks defensemen Sami Vatanen and Josh Manson, Minnesota Wild defensemen Matt Dumba and Jonas Brodin, Carolina Hurricanes defensemen Brett Pesce or Justin Faulk, and Vancouver Canucks defenseman Chris Tanev could all be targets for a similar trade from the Maple Leafs.

Given the value of some of the aforementioned players, Fox believes that an additional forward and perhaps even a draft pick could be included in this deal.
