Edmonton Oilers are “firmly in the mix” to acquire a highly offensive player!

Earlier this season, insider Darren Dreger suggested Union College forward Spencer Foo attended Oilers game last night. Edmonton was hoping to sign the local lad before the playoffs, but others were teams in mix as well. So far, nothing new.

However, a new report from Bob Stauffer, Oilers Radio Analyst and Host of “Oilers Now” on 630 CHED, suggests that

Edmonton-born NCAA free agent RW/C Spencer Foo is expected to make his decision later in June. Las Vegas Golden Knights would be in the mix as well as Detroit, Philadelphia and Edmonton

In an NHL.com article on this year’s top college free agents, Dave Starman, a college hockey analyst for CBS Sports Network and ESPN, gives the following scouting report on Foo:

He’s greasy. He just does a lot of little things that are fun to watch. He’s got electric speed, hands, guts. He’s not afraid to try something difficult. He’s been good. He’s just fun to watch and he plays with an edge.

Foo played 38 games this season with Union College. He scored 26 goals and registered 36 assists for a total of 62 points.
