There’s a Lot Bubbling Right Now

Since winning the NHL Draft Lottery in late April, all eyes have been on the New Jersey Devils. Will they keep the pick and draft one of the top ranked prospects Nolan Patrick or Nico Hirschier? Or, will they move the pick to acquire further assets?

Grant McCagg, former NHL amateur scout & president of www.recrutes.ca, dropped a monster trade rumor on the day of the NHL draft. Here’s what he reported:

“To recap what I heard from very credible sources last night—could be fireworks today. The New Jersey Devils could be moving down for Makar, Vegas Golden Knights up for Patrick.”

This is another voice adding up to what Sportsnet top insider Elliotte Friedman reported earlier in June when he mentioned, “There is a growing suspicion the Devils feel their greatest need is on the blue line, and there are some good ones they like (Miro Heiskanen? Cale Makar?)”
