Rumor: NHL team “going to something big” within the next week.
Top six forward rumored to be involved.

It appears that one National Hockey League franchise is working on a big move, and the reasons may be obvious.
TSN insider Darren Dreger is reporting that the New York Islanders are currently working on something that would add a top six forward to their line up beginning next season. According to the Dreger the Islanders are "going to do something big in the next week here. And by big, I mean they're going to add an offensive piece."
The Islanders are currently hoping to sign captain John Tavares to a large contract extension this summer, and securing another top forward for him to play with would certainly go a long way towards convincing him to sign such a deal.
Dreger has not elaborated on who the Isles may be targeting, but unless the Isles have a trade in the works the free agent pool is somewhat limited this summer.
