Earlier today we reported on the surprising decision from Minnesota Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau to make National Hockey League veteran center Matt Cullen a healthy scratch. Now that report has led to a significant trade rumor.

TSN insider Bob McKenzie is now speculating that the Pittsburgh Penguins and their general manager Jim Rutherford could have interest in bringing Cullen back to the Penguins. Interestingly enough the Penguins have been looking for a bottom 6 type of center to add depth up the middle this season.

Even more interesting however is the fact that following the speculation from McKenzie, Minnesota Wild insider Mike Russo has revealed that Rutherford hinted to him earlier this season about the possibility of a trade for Cullen.

That's two of the best sources in the National Hockey League pointing to the same potential trade deal, this one sounds like it has a very high probability of becoming a reality.
