Rumor: Rangers captaincy announcement leaked to the public?

The New York Rangers have been without a captain since shipping Ryan McDonagh to the Tampa Bay Lightning in February, 2018 but that’s all about to change according to multiple online reports.

Several blogs and Rangers fan sites are reporting that forward Mika Zibanejad will be named the teams next captain on Thursday night for their home opener.

The 26 year old Zibanejad has been a big part of the Rangers the past three seasons and led the team in scoring last season with 30 goals and 74 points in 82 games.
