Rumor: Rumblings of a potential trade between the Oilers and Coyotes.

This would make a lot of sense.

There is a lot of speculation flying around the Arizona Coyotes following the trade demands of forward Tobias Reider and there may be a solution in sight.

These are for the time being just rumors, but there have been rumblings that the Edmonton Oilers and the Arizona Coyotes are currently discussing a possible swap that would send Reider to the Oilers in exchange for former first overall pick Nail Yakupov.

On the surface the deal seems to make a lot of sense which may be fueling these rumors, Yakupov is currently on a deal that pays him $2.5 million this season and it's obvious the Oilers want him out of their hair at this point. In fact a report on our website earlier today covered this story.

On the other side of the coin Tobias Reider is reportedly asking for a deal worth $2.5 million, while Arizona isn't willing to pay him that much. The Oilers would of course have the option to retain salary, something that isn't that far fetched given just how badly they want to Yakupov out, especially when it comes with a return like Tobias Reider.

It's hard to gauge how close this is to being a reality, as we've stated there have only been rumors thus far, and nothing concrete on this potential deal.
