The Montreal Canadiens took a big gamble when they signed Alexander Radulov to a one-year deal prior to the start of the 2016-2017 National Hockey League season, and by all accounts that risk paid off big time for the team.

Now however Radulov finds himself headed to free agency after a very strong season for the Canadiens and according to one report he is putting some heavy pressure on the Canadiens and general manager Marc Bergevin by asking for huge money on his next deal.

According to a report from DLC'Jeff Drouin a "excellent source" close to the negotiations has informed DLC that Radulov's last ask in the negotiation was for a five year deal that would pay him a whopping $7.5 million per season.

While Radulov accounted for 18 goals and 36 assists in his 76 games with the Canadiens this season, a contract of that magnitude may be too tough a pill for Bergevin to swallow.
