The Ottawa Senators may have been part of the biggest trade so far this season, trade chatter reveals they are ready to make more moves. After moving forward Kyle Turris to the Nashville Predators in a three-way trade to land star centre Matt Duchene, another Sens forward might find himself on the trading block.

According to TSN insider Darren Dreger, rivals clubs have called the Senators about Nick Paul. The NHL insider suggest it might be time for the Sens to see if he’s a fit for them and if not, could be used as an asset for another piece.

Paul, who was selected in the fourth round, 101th overall, by the Dallas Stars in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, is playing his first game of the season on Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche in Sweden. He could be used in the coming weeks to up his value on the market, especially that the Sens have lost winger Zack Smith

Smith suffered a dislocated thumb in Friday’s 4-3 OT victory over the Avalanche in Game 1 of the Global Series and wasn’t available. He’ll be gone for three weeks, a great opportunity for both the Sens and Paul.

In 25 NHL career games, Paul has amassed two goals and five points.
