RUMOR: Star Player Trade Update
Keystone Press

This week it was confirmed that Trevor van Riemsdyk of the Chicago Blackhawks is officially available for trade, but the Blackhawks might need to sweeten the deal to get themselves a forward and avoid losing TVR through waivers.

Some have speculated that perhaps Mark McNeill can be added to the mix in order to appeal to the other NHL teams but no confirmation on whether or not that is a viable option at the moment.

The purpose of trading van Riemsdyk is to obtain a new forward that can set the offensive power over the top for a high scoring season with the Blackhawks. Therefore if TVR doesn't get traded perhaps Michal Rozsival would be the next trade option but that is simply a rumor no official statement about that has been made.

It would be unfortunate to have to place TVR on waivers because it puts the team at risk of losing him before he can be officially sent to the AHL leaving the Blackhawks down a defenseman with no forward in his place.

More news to follow as the rumors on the trade continue to rumble.
