The Philadelphia Flyers are one of several teams tail-spinning down to the basement of the NHL. They were handed their 10th consecutive loss on Saturday afternoon, and have had their record reduced to 8-11-7 in 26 games this season.

While there had been speculation in previous years that Wayne Simmonds could be available for trade, it was generally just desire from certain fan bases rather than an actual fact.

On Hockey Night in Canada, reporter Nick Kypreos dropped an interesting nugget of info regarding the Flyers' star winger.

"Wayne Simmonds might be a name we will hear a little bit more and more towards the trade deadline February 26th."

Kypreos goes on to say that GM Ron Hextall doesn't want to part ways with Simmonds, but as one league executive put it, he's probably the team's most valuable tradable asset. Ivan Provorov is untouchable which is why he doesn't qualify as the most valuable asset.

Simmonds has regularly posted around 30 goals and 50-60 points a season, and his combination of skill, size, and grit will be welcome on any team. He's been one of the NHL's best right wingers for years.

Could this finally be the year he changes teams?
